If your legacy website receives significant organic traffic from competitive keywords and these website visitors are important to your association, then you will want to take special care when migrating from one website to another.

On the other hand, if most of your traffic comes from members searching specifically for your association, SEO might not be as important to you.

What Novi Will Provide

Novi will provide a Content Management System that has the technical tools you'll need for onsite SEO. Basically, we provide the tech... not the content.

Some of the specific tools include:

  • Page titles

  • Meta Descriptions

  • Friendly File Names

  • H1 through H6

  • 301 redirects

  • Ability to add scripts to the site's page headers & body for services like: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, retargeting pixels

  • Access to HTML source code for content regions

  • Fully responsive websites

What Novi Will Not Provide

While some of us have significant experience working with SEO, we are not an SEO consulting agency. If organic traffic from search engines is important to your association, we highly recommend that you work with a third party expert.

What an SEO Strategy Might Look Like

Here are a few resources that might help you get a sense of what an SEO consulting engagement might entail:

Loop Us In During Onboarding

One of the services that we provide during onboarding is website content migration. If you have an active SEO strategy in place, we are happy to use some of the provided time to work within that framework. Please remember that it is your responsibility to proof our work to ensure that it's in line with your specifications.

Your Decision

Ultimately, you will need to decide how much attention should be put into your SEO efforts, both during your website migration and on an ongoing basis.
