While writing up a help article on a completely unrelated subject, I realized that a short video would be more helpful than a static image. Since I was looking for a very short animation without any sound, I decided to create a quick GIF.

Here are some of the tools that I used in case you'd like to try:

Screen Capture

Our team can't live without Snagit. As of today, it's $50 per license, so it's not free. But you get what you pay for. Snagit will allow you to record an entire screen, a window, or just a specific area.

Convert MP4 to GIF

I found this video to GIF converter with a quick Google search. Once you upload your video, make sure to set the start & end time. I missed that one on my first try. Once you convert to GIF, you'll see the GIF displayed on the page. You'll want to "right click" and "save as" to save the file.

Upload GIF to Novi

Once you have created your gif, you'll want to upload it to your CMS page through the Novi Files uploader. Learn more about adding content to the frontend of your site.

Example

Here's an example of the GIF I created. The whole process took less than 15 minutes.
