Learn how to find a member record that is using a specific friendly file name so that you can avoid conflicts.

No two web pages can share the exact same friendly file name.  Imagine, it wouldn't make sense that typing google.com into your web browser could take you to two different pages.

To protect against this, Novi will display the "a page already exists with that file name" error and prohibit users from creating a record with that specific friendly file name.

Two Ways to Resolve the Error

1. Change the name for the record you are trying to save

The fastest way to resolve the conflict is to adjust the friendly file name for the record you are trying to save. Most people will add a "-1" or perhaps some other identifiable information.

2. Find the original record & change it's friendly file name

If that offending record is a member, you can use a custom report to locate it.  Just look for "SEO Info > File Name" "contains" "{the duplicate file name you're looking for}"
