What Is the Folders & Pages Section?

The Folders and Pages section is your website’s internal sitemap. It gives you access to every page on your site—whether it’s linked in your main navigation menu or not. This is your go-to spot for organizing and managing your content behind the scenes.

To find it in the backend, navigate in the left menu to Site Content > Folders & Pages:

Why It Matters

Not all your web pages need to be visible in the navigation menu, but you still need to manage them. This section helps you:

  • View all pages on your website in one place

  • Organize your content in a way that makes sense for your team

  • Quickly update page settings or structure

How the Folder Structure Works

Here’s the key: the folders you see here are just for internal organization. They don’t impact your public website navigation.

You can organize pages however you like. For example:

  • Membership-related content can live in a “Membership” folder

  • Event pages might be grouped under “Events”

  • You could create folders like “Volunteers” or “About Us” based on your needs!

This setup helps you keep things tidy and easy to find, especially as your website grows.

Creating a New Folder

To add a new folder:

  1. Type the folder name in the input field at the top right corner.

  2. Click the plus (+) icon.

Your new folder will appear at the top of the list, but once you refresh or return to this page, folders will be sorted alphabetically.

Moving Pages Into Folders

To add pages to a folder:

  1. Find the page you want to move.

  2. Click and drag it into the folder of your choice.

This action only affects how content is organized on the back end. It doesn’t change what visitors see in your navigation menu.

Key Takeaways

  • The Folders and Pages section is your content management hub.

  • It shows every static page, whether it’s public-facing or not.

  • Create folders to organize pages however you like.

  • Drag-and-drop functionality makes reorganizing easy.

  • Nothing you do here affects your website’s public navigation. It’s just for your internal workflow.
