Allow Members to Submit URLs via Custom Fields

We’ve added a new custom field type called Website URL, meaning you can now gather webpages URLs from members!

Simply select Website URL under Field Type when creating a custom field. Best of all, URLs submitted through these fields will appear as clickable links when viewed in lists, reports and directories.

Improved Custom Field Visibility Settings

Admins have more control over custom field visibility than ever before! In the Edit Custom Field modal, you’ll notice some additional checkboxes under the Frontend/Backend section.

These options include:

  • Show on Frontend – Determines if a custom field is visible on the frontend. This setting serves the same purpose as the previous "Internal Use Only" checkbox, but its language is more consistent with visibility options on our built-in Member Fields. Additionally, you will now see a "Show on Frontend" column in the Custom Field List View, just like in the Member Fields List.

  • Users Cannot Change on Frontend – Displays a fully read-only custom field on the user’s Member Compass.

Note: The new “Users Cannot Change on Frontend” setting CANNOT be used for fields that are Key Information or, by extension, fields that affect Dues Rules. For a custom field to influence Dues Rules, it must be included as Key Information.

Filter by Visibility in Custom Field List

Admins will notice a new column in the Custom Fields List View: Visibility. This provides an overview of where your custom fields appear across your website.

Plus, the List View's filter now includes options related to Visibility, helping you find the right field faster.

Include Helper Text on Address-Related Member Fields

To guide your users as they fill out their contact information, you can now supplement our built-in address fields with instructional text.

This way, you can let members know that for example, Billing Address is used for transactions while Shipping Address is used as a physical location/in the member directory.

This new functionality (which appears as an Instructions box under the Edit Member Field modal) allows you to customize helper text with basic HTML formatting.

The Instructions editor has been added to the following member fields on both the frontend and backend:

  • Person Contact Info: Billing Address

  • Person Contact Info: Shipping Address

  • Company Contact Info: Billing Address

  • Company Contact Info: Shipping Address

  • Personal Contact Info: Address

Set "Unpublish On" Dates for Blog Articles

No need to set reminders to take down time-sensitive blog articles — Novi can hide them automatically thanks to the "Unpublish On" feature!

When creating a blog article, admins are required to set a "Published On" date. They now also have the option to schedule an "Unpublish On" date, which will hide the blog article on the frontend of the website.

Once the "Published On" and "Unpublish On" dates are set, be sure the blog is toggled to Active. This allows Novi to both post and hide the article. If your blog article is ever missing from the frontend, check your Published On and Unpublish On dates!

On the Article List View, admins can display an "Unpublished On" column by checking the corresponding box under the gear icon.

Update Featured Header Images on Select Pages

Liven up your site with page-specific header images on your Directories, Membership Information page and Member Compass!

To update the Featured Image (which appears as a header photo), click the paper icon at the top of your page. This opens the Edit Static Page modal. Upload and edit a photo in the Featured Image area of the modal, then click Save & Close once the photo is in place. Whatever image you upload will be unique to that particular page.

After saving and closing the modal, the Featured Image will display at the top of the page. This example shows how a Featured Image appears above a directory.

View, Print, and Send Payment Receipts

Payments can now be viewed, printed, and sent separately from invoices!

Members who need records of their receipts can now find payment information independently. From the frontend Member Compass, users can view and print payment receipts. However, only users who are Primary or Billing Contacts (or who have management access) will see the View & Print option for company payments.

On the backend, admins will see the payments listed on member records under the Transactions tab. From the Transactions list, they can click Edit, Print or Send under the Action column.

If an admin clicks the Edit button, the Edit Received Payment modal will open, from which admins can similarly print, preview or email the receipt:

A payment receipt that has been printed or previewed in PDF form will reflect this layout:

Hide the Email Share Option on Events with Limited Visibility

Recently, we introduced the update to hide Facebook and LinkedIn "Share Event" options on events that are not visible to the public. That update has expanded to include the Email share option!

All three share options will not be displayed if the event's visibility is locked down. This defends your event's exclusivity and prevents attendees from sharing links with ineligible members.

Automatically Generate Google Tag Manager Script on Frontend Pages

Under your Association Settings > Analytics/Scripts, you can now choose either Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager to track website activity.

If you select Google Tag Manager, simply enter your Google Tag Manager Container ID. Moving forward, your website will automatically render a GTM script in both the head and body of your frontend pages. This helps Google Tag Manager easily deploy tags to your Novi site!

More Flexibility

Small but mighty changes you don’t want to miss!

Custom Field Display Names Show Instead of Field Names on Invoices

For transaction line items that reference a custom field, the Display Name now appears instead of the Field Name. This applies to both invoices and sales receipts!

Add "Member Since Date" to Novi Group Conditions

Need a directory showing all new members since the first day of the year? Use the "Member Since Date" condition in Novi Groups!

This condition prompts a Novi Group to display individuals and/or companies who began receiving benefits after a fixed point in time.
