Data Import Custom Fields

During the data migration process, the Novi team will review your member fields and custom fields that will be imported.

Member fields are fields that Novi already collects. Examples include names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. 

Custom fields are fields specific to your association that you have the data for and would like to bring in during the data import. Examples include unit count, employee count, birthdays, etc. There are endless possibilities!

Things to know for data import:

When bringing custom fields in for data import, there are a few things to be aware of, depending on what kind of custom field you are bringing in:

  • Checkbox: For "yes" values, the spreadsheet should say "TRUE"

  • Dropdown: Values in the spreadsheet must match the values in Novi's custom field exactly - with casing and spelling.

  • Multi-Selection Dropdown: Values should be separated with a semi-colon. Values in the spreadsheet must match the values in Novi's custom field exactly - with casing and spelling.
