When you’re looking for a particular member in the directory, it helps to know exactly how the search works behind the scenes. The Keyword Search is designed to be flexible and intuitive so you can find who you’re looking for quickly.
What the Search Looks At
When you type in a keyword, the system looks for matches across several fields. The keyword doesn’t need to be at the beginning of the word. It just needs to appear somewhere in the text. Results are filtered based on matches in:
Member’s name
Parent company’s name
Professional title
Company aliases
Custom Field filters
Custom Field values (if those values are displayed on directory profile pages)
Profile text fields (for both company and individual profiles)
If the keyword is found in any of these fields and the member is set to be visible in the directory, their profile will appear in the results.
Note: The search also ignores diacritics in names. That means you’ll see accurate results whether you search with or without them. For example:
Searching Rene will still return results for René.
Searching Zoe will return results for Zoë
