Novi Pay: Overview

Learn what Novi Pay™ is, why most Novi customers use it, and how to get started.

What is Novi Pay?

Novi Pay is a credit card and ACH processing option for Novi AMS customers, powered by Fiserv, one of the largest payment processors in the world. The behind-the-scenes processing runs on Fiserv. What makes Novi Pay different is everything Novi builds on top of it: deep integration with Novi and QuickBooks, more automation, and support from the Novi team you already know.

Processing fees are similar across most processors (Novi Pay, QuickBooks Payments, Stripe). So the real question isn't just about price, it's what's built on top. That's where Novi Pay stands apart.

Why Customers Choose Novi Pay

Built Into Your Novi Workflow

Fully integrated with Novi AMS, Novi Pay brings more of your day-to-day payment work directly into Novi:

  • Automated, nightly deposit transactions in QuickBooks Online

  • Payment details built directly into Novi, and decline reasons visible right inside Novi, so when a member asks why their card didn't go through, your team can answer without logging into a separate portal

  • Admins with special accounting privileges can issue manual refunds and handle one-off exceptions directly from within Novi

Integrated with QuickBooks Online

Novi Pay's deep QuickBooks Online integration means your bookkeeper sees every component of every batch - sales receipts, payments, and processing fees - all accounted for automatically. Month-end closes faster, with fewer errors.

Competitive Processing Rates

There is no additional cost to your Novi subscription for using Novi Pay. The transaction fees are designed to be highly competitive with other payment processors:

  • Credit card transactions: 2.95% + $0.25 per transaction

  • ACH bank payments: 0.75% per transaction

All fees are clearly outlined in the application. Incidental fees, not listed here, may apply.

Flexible Credit Card Surcharge Fees

Novi Pay lets you pass credit card processing fees along to the payer with an optional surcharge fee. If you choose to use this feature, you set it by module (dues, e-commerce, and events), each with its own threshold, so a small donation or a low-cost webinar can stay fee-free while a large sponsorship covers its own processing cost.

Surcharge fees are configured in Association Settings.

Enhanced Security, Powered by Fiserv

Fiserv is a Fortune 500 global leader trusted by millions of businesses and thousands of financial institutions. Novi Pay inherits that enterprise-grade security infrastructure, including Card Account Updater (CAU).

CAU, an optional add-on to your Fiserv account, automatically updates expired or replaced card details through Fiserv's partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, and Amex, reducing failed recurring payments without any staff or member intervention.

PCI Compliance Assistance - Included at No Additional Charge

Through your partnership with Novi Pay - Fiserv, you'll have access to a free service for assistance in completing your annual PCI Compliance documentation. Unlike other payment processors, this service is provided free of charge because there is a monthly PCI Non-Compliance fee instead.

Dedicated Support from Novi

With Novi Pay, you receive direct support from the same Novi customer experience team you already know and trust. That means prompt help from people you know, plus regular updates and feature enhancements. If questions need to bubble up to Fiserv, we'll help coordinate to get you the right answers.

No Downtime When You Switch

Novi Pay runs concurrently with your current processor, so switching means no downtime and no disruption for your members. Previously stored payment methods keep working until members naturally update them.

External Portal for Statements, Reports & Advanced Troubleshooting

For situations that require a deeper look such as detailed statements, historical reports, or dispute management, Novi Pay customers also have access to Fiserv portal's "CardPointe" for advanced needs, while keeping routine work inside Novi.

Switching is straightforward. See exactly what to expect in our How to Get Started with Novi Pay guide.
