We're excited to share the newest features released by Novi AMS!

Quick Jumps:

⏰ Reminder: 12/31 Calendar Renewal Season is Near!

If your association utilizes calendar renewals with expiration dates on 12/31 and auto-renewal, be sure to check when renewals will run and that dues rules are appropriately updated and linked to the correct Product and Service! It's also a good time to review the Message Displayed on Invoice if it needs a refresh.

😍 New Group Trainings Offered on Novi HQ

Novi HQ's event calendar offers additional training opportunities that are ideal for both new users and those looking to refresh their skills. These training sessions are free of charge and held regularly. If you can’t attend a live session, don’t worry - recordings are also available (must be logged in to HQ to view recordings)!

Novi Summit Registration is now OPEN!

Ecommerce Updates

⭐️ Promo Code Enhancements

Promo codes have been revamped to enhance their capabilities. Admins can now specify whether discounts apply per checkout or per item in the transaction, set detailed usage restrictions such as limits per family tree, view specific promo code redemption and availability insights, and access a Promo Code Usage Report!

🛍️ Refined Product Add-Ons Insights in Events

Admins who have product add-ons in events can easily see which add-ons were purchased via the event, the sales totals for add-ons sold in the event, and navigate to a pre-filtered list of products sold within that event.

Financial Update

💵 Set Invoice and Sales Receipt Billable Party Privileges

Admins can now set separate billable party privileges for invoices versus sales receipts for frontend users to determine who is eligible as the billable party for each type. On the backend, admins can override these settings in a transaction as needed.

Functionality Update

👀 Display a Profile Special Field on Person/Company Profiles in Member Compass

In Association Settings in the Membership tab, admins can set a Profile Special Field to display in user's Member Compass profiles for fields that contain important information that should be easily accessible. The field can be chosen from select system fields or any custom field via Association Settings.

🪪 Guest Purchaser Option to Require Company Name

Admins frequently sell products that are open to guests to purchase, and sometimes a company name is required for reporting on those sold products. This feature allows admins to mandate that guests provide a company name during checkout. Note: The company name is used solely for reporting purposes and will not be linked to any existing records in the database.

🪄 Novi's Duplicate Differentiator Hidden on Frontend

When users add records on the frontend that bypass the duplicate detection features in place (rare, but possible), Novi identifies these potential duplicates by appending differentiators of - 1, - 2, etc., to the Display Name. This allows QuickBooks Online to accept the name, as identical duplicates are not permitted.

These differentiators will be now hidden on the frontend in directories and committees, but will remain visible in the admin view and on transactions until admins update the name...if it's a true duplicate, merge it and the differentiator can be removed.

🚫 Exclude Specific Management Access Users from New Person Notifications

A setting for Company Employee Signup Protections notifies Primary Contacts, Billing Contacts, and management access users when a new person connects their user account with their company on the association's website. Admins can disable these notifications for specific management users on their records under the Settings tab as needed.

🧹 Auto-Archive for Unused Groups

Groups are a dynamic and powerful part of Novi that require processing power to keep them up-to-date at all times. When a group is no longer needed but utilizing processing power, it is pulling resources that could be used elsewhere to keep your system running smoothly.

Archiving groups means a faster, more powerful Novi and provides an option to clean up groups without having to delete anything. Certain parameters must be met for a group to be auto-archived (such as no connection to integrations, no updates within a timeframe, etc.) and not all groups will auto-archive, see article for full details.

✨ Feature Flashback

Custom Activity Types are a great way for admins to log organization-specific activities on records. As a bonus, Custom Activity Types are also available in the Activity Timeline Report!
